The Garden Party Leeds – Preview

To celebrate the 10th year of the Faversham Garden Party in Leeds, this year sees the two-day festival appear at the Tetley on August bank holiday weekend.

Yes there’s not long to go now until the Garden Party, and this years line up promises to be one of the largest and most diverse to date. Leeds has a habit of attracting great DJ’s and live music, and the Garden Party has managed to bring together some of the biggest and most influential promotors in the UK. The Warehouse Project, Sound Channel, Canal Mills, Eat Your Own Ears and Metropolis are just a handful of the guys involved this bank holiday. If you were just expecting music then you’d be disappointed to find out that there’s going to be a whole host of great food as well. The guys behind Leeds Indie Food Festival will be returning to the Tetley, including Rola Wola, Sela and Boozy Q BBQ, along with a Craft Beer and Cocktail bar.

Saturday sees former Moloko singer Roisin Murphy headline, along with R&B legends Soul II Soul. DJ’s include Joy Orbison, Mr Scruff, Redlight and Leeds local Bambooman. There will also be sets throughout the day from new Leeds station KMAH Radio, Butter Side Up, Mono_Cult and Drop The Mustard.

Hip-hop pioneer Talib Kwali headlines Sunday along with Little Dragon, while Todd Terje brings the disco. DJ’s include Julio Bashmore, Kerri Chandler, Bicep and 6 Music’s soul man Craig Charles.

The festival kicks off this Saturday 29th August and you can grab both day tickets and weekend tickets over on the Garden Party site. As far as bank holiday bashes go, The Tetley is the place to be this weekend… sunshine providing.
