Acid Mothers Temple at Leeds’ Belgrave Music Hall – Beacons Metro + World Island

Heading the bill on Saturday nights bumper listing for the ongoing Beacons Metro festival was Acid Mothers Temple – and if you haven’t heard of them before and have pre-conceptions of what they might be like from the name… you’re right.

The full listing brought a host of different styles all of which held their common ground in the more psych side of the next dimension over. Support from Wolf People, Grumbling Fur, and Gnod set the tone for those in attendance dosing amounts of noise, riff and drawn out verses.

Acid Mothers Temple, currently at the tail end of their Cosmo Saraswati Tour across Europe, took proceedings to the next level lying somewhere within interstellar noise drone and psychedelic shamans, each with the seeming knack of knowing where each is wanting to take the crowd. Thankfully they took their sweet time in getting there so we could enjoy the journey.

Further gig listings for Beacons Metro can be found on the site – check some out if you’re in the Leeds spots.
