Still riding on the wave developed from last years PT1 EP , native to Leeds producer Happa opens his 2016 account with the PT2 EP. It will be the second in a series to be released through his own label PT/5 Records… Picking up on the trend? Set for 8th April.
PT/5 Records is a sign of Happa’s intent on quality control in all aspects of his output, a path that has led him to working on the label as a joint venture with Dan Foat of R&S Records notoriety.
The PT2 EP opens with newly dished up Blackberreh! which explores a more gritty industrial sound with pitch shifting beats creating a basis for glitching spikes, only to open out and bring in a big-room key line to add progression. Closing the PT2 EP is the track Drag, showcasing Happa’s ability to churn out material that can comfortably hold it’s own in the outer-town mill techno nights of his hometown and the big room environment. The techno stonker is built on metallic scrapes and swells of grated metals creating a track sounding like a towering juggernaut. Take a listen below and purchase here.
