Autonomous Africa – Youth Stand Up! Remixes (AA007)

After the release of the ‘Youth Stand Up’ album at the end of last year, Autonomous Africa brings the remix treatment, featuring four of the album tracks reimagined.

‘Youth Stand Up!’ is a collaborative project between Glasgow’s Green Door studio, Lebeha Drumming Center in Hopkins, Belize, and the Tafi Cultural Institute based in Tafi Atome, Ghana. The album now receives the remix treatment from JD Twitch, Auntie Flo, Midland and General Ludd. After a successful fundraiser last year helped send instruments and recording equipment to Africa, a group of 11 musicians from Glasgow, flew out to meet Ghanian and Belizian musicians who play Borborbor and Garifuna music.

All proceeds from the aforementioned release and the remix album will go to Tafi Cultural Institute, Tafi Atome, Ghana and Lebeha Drumming Center, Hopkins, Belize. You can pick up the 12″ over at Phonica now via Autonomous Africa and stream the preview below.
