Enigmatic Vancouver collective Mood Hut release their latest offering ‘Better’, two edits that are sure to fill the dance floor dug up from their formative years,
Forming in 2009, the Canadian collective started the Love Dancing parties, “a formative dance experience for many of us in Vancouver”. This year the mysterious crew came together under various aliases to release tracks for Japanese label Snaker and Disco Mantras Vol. 1.
‘Better’ is a glimpse back into those original parties in 2009, and we get a feeling for the calibre of jams that were being spun at the time. The EP provides two disco edits, taking us through rolling breaks, analogue-rich keys and brassy horns.
The release is out now on the Mood Hut imprint, pick up a copy over at Juno and keep up to date with the Vancouver collective as they are definitely ones to watch this year.
