Dimitri From Brooklyn completes a trilogy of releases for ‘hometown’ disco-cut label Razor-N-Tape, set for release in May.
Dimitri From Brooklyn (aka Paris) has been dishing out disco jams for what seems like forever now. His latest offering sees him bring a third set of edits to Razor-N-Tape, a label which is known for their consistent output of disco edit delights.
‘Edits Pt 3‘ opens with ‘Kettle America’ a take on Two Man Sound‘s disco and funk jam ‘Que Tal America’ from 1981. B-side ‘I Knead You’ sees Dimitri revisit a track from his days in Paris with an edit of Sylvester‘s ‘I Need You’, originally released in 2004 as part of a Japan only Soul Sourced Remix Boogies CD. A four-minute gospel and soul hand-clapper with completely reworked vocal and piano parts.
It seems Razor-N-Tape can do no wrong at the moment, Dimitri From Brooklyn’s ‘Edits Pt 3’ adds another sure fire groover to their collection. The release won’t be available until May however you can pre order the 12″ now via Juno and Prime Direct.
