(Premiere) Laminate Pet Animal release new single ‘Solace’

Leeds electronic trio Laminate Pet Animal release new single ‘Solace’, fresh off the heels of their debut European tour dates.

After a string of remixes for the likes of Magic Man and KARI, the Leeds based trio have been making waves this year, building a recognisable sound of lush organic samples, vocal harmonies and intricate percussion. Making a reputation for themselves as a two-piece live outfit, producer Thomas Trueman and drummer Tom Bradshaw are now accompanied by lead vocalist Charlotte Jones on their latest single. Their sound floats somewhere between the strings of Bonobo and intricacies of Gold Panda, tied together with their trademark harmonies.

Lead single ‘Solace’ is an ambient wash of vocal melodies and hazy samples. “The song hints at nostalgia, reflecting on the acceptance of where you are, and the longing for being content.” B-side “Baer” opens with layered guitars sampled at varying speeds, before slowly building with distant strings and melodic vocal chops, creating a lush landscape reminiscent of the likes of Tycho.

‘Solace’ is set for release today, 16th November, and is available for download over at LPA’s Soundcloud page and all other outlets here. Check out their social media for all upcoming tour dates and future releases.
